Deja’s Interview with Model Henry Nickon

Question 1. What is your story? In other words, who is Henry Nickson and what would you like people to know about him?

Answer - It all began growing up in the streets of Ghana; I always wanted to school in America. This vision led me into receiving a full academic scholarship to school in one of the best HBCUs in the nation: Claflin University! My confidence today was borne out of my stay at Claflin knowing that each of the students who looked just like me had dreams of becoming visionary leaders. I can confidently say that I am a prime example of the saying “If you can imagine it, you can achieve it”.

Question 2. Have you always had modeling aspirations? What other aspirations did you have?

Answer - I did not have any aspiration of becoming a model, but I strongly believed in always taking care of myself internally and externally whether it was going to the gym and reading some books.  Self-elevation always felt great! I have always aspired to be an IT fanatic which I am currently active in.

Question 3. What type of modeling do you do? Ex.: Fashion, street, etc.

Answer - Currently I am more focused on Fashion, street, and fitness modeling

Question 4. How was your experience working with photographer, Kemet Alston?

Answer - I have known and worked with Kemet for a while now as he is a fellow Claflinite. I have always marveled at his work and dedication towards achieving the finest results.  When Kemet reached out to me about his ideas to shoot me in a magazine, I instantly knew he would produce an expectational work as usual. Throughout the shoot, he demonstrated his professionalism and guidance which inevitably led to his work getting successfully published in Atlanta’s “Let Us Live” Magazine.

Question 5 What advice would you give to other aspiring models who are trying to acquire the level of success you have?

Answer - As cliche as it may sound, Health is wealth! Invest in yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually and be very comfortable in your own skin.
